NCAA Baseball Regionals 2012: UCF in Finals at Coral Gables, Miami Eliminated

Friday marked the beginning of the NCAA Baseball Regionals across the country, as 64 teams around the nation began their final push toward Omaha and the College World Series.

Down in Miami, the No. 1 seed Miami Hurricanes opened the Coral Gables regional tournament with a devastating 10-2 loss to the No. 4 seed Seawolves of Stony Brook. 

The UCF Knights opened play the same day with a 2-1 advantage over the Missouri State Bears that sent them to the winner's bracket.

On Saturday, the Canes dropped their second game to Missouri State in a decisive 12-2 victory for the Bears while UCF outlasted the Seawolves in a ninth inning save by closer Joe Rogers (1.56 ERA, 13 saves). Like they've done all season long, the Knights won again in one-run fashion with a final score of 9-8 and advanced to the final game of the regional where they will face the winner of Sunday's elimination game.
