Geaux Rilla Ball: LSU Drops Hogs Into Loser Bracket

6/15/09 OmahaThe No. 1 ranked LSU Tigers went all General Ursus on the poor pitiful humans (Arkansas Razorbacks) in Game Six of the College World Series in Omaha tonight. 

Mikey Mahtook kicked off the Geaux-rilla ball fest in the first inning with a monster three-run home run, allowing the Tigers to take the early three-run lead in the first.  The Razorbacks got one back on an RBI double in the bottom of the first. That run would be the only run given up by 2009 Pitcher of the Year Louis Coleman, who would pitch six innings (6IP, 6H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 7SO). It would also be the only run of the night for the humans (Hogs).

Ryan Schimpf delivered an RBI double in the second, and it would never get any closer.  In the fifth inning, the Geaux-rillas (er Tigers) would put the game away for good with a Blake Dean two-run homer and a solo shot by Freshman SS Austin Nola. Two sport star Jared Mitchell (Football) added a double in the fifth and had a nice night in the field and at the plate going three for five with the double and an RBI.
