ACC Baseball Tournament 2012: Scorching Georgia Tech Sure to Win Automatic Bid

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are set to take the ACC's automatic bid to the College World Series this summer with a win in Sunday's ACC Baseball Championship Game (12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2) in Greensboro, North Carolina. 

The Yellow Jackets will take on the Miami Hurricanes in a one-game, winner-take-all matchup for the conference crown and an automatic bid—much like in college basketball.

Miami went 16-14 in the ACC this past season and has looked beatable in North Carolina for the most part. The Hurricanes have gone 2-1 and outscored their opponents only 13-9 over those three games. 

Georgia Tech had lost five of seven games coming into the 2012 ACC Tournament this May, but has since turned it on and won three straight this past week in North Carolina, outscoring its opponents 27-10 in the process.

On Friday, the Yellow Jackets put up 17 runs on defending conference champion Virginia, and on Saturday they topped Clemson 5-1 after dropping two of three against the Tigers during the regular season.
